I’m looking for a site where you can find articles , news and interviews about jazz musicians..singers,producers, poets, indie record companies, local artists, products that musicians use while they are on the road such as “Bradosol”.. things that really work and are generally known only to artists which help keep them happy and healthy..What drum heads or cymbols does Billy Hart use for example..what are his favorites..?why are some of his cymbols facing upwards..?what does this do for him.. What were Elvins favorites.. who are their fav groupies.. .Brian Blade..what make of drums does he use..he is one of the hottest in todays line up..where is he from, what city does he work out of.. what foods does he like.? Louie Armstrongs was red beans and rice..Do you know what food is served at new york rent parties..What hotels do they(musicians) like the most in any given city..which ones did elvin like the best..their favs..which ones have the nicest chamber maids ect..the nicest lobbys or elevators..or the hippest bars ..their fav airline.. the ones with the nicest stewardists that make you feel at home when you are away from home..reading these things puts you on the road with your favorite artist..its like travelin with them and seeing through their eyes..Jimmy Smith, what kind of organ did he play..where is his home town..? Johnny (hammond organ) smith..between him and jimmy smith, who played the a-100 and who the b-3..? Sonny Rollins ,where is he from..what kind of reed does he use and what is the make of his horn and why did he practice on the brooklyn bridge..was it during the day or at night..?Al gardner,singing drummer.. where is he from and what drum set does he use..what was his drum seat made of..why did he use mainly mallets when he played with Jimmy Smith..and who remembers what sizzle cymbols were and how they were used..John Coltrane, where was he born and raised and what city did he settle in before he went to new york..?Curt Elling,jazz vocalist..where does he work out of what is his fav food ect..Nina Frelon,what southern state is she from..who is her fav bassist..Is Sonny Greenige a us or canadian citizen.what kind of guitar does he use and who’s favorite guitarist is he..where was he born..who is his fav classical composer..? which city on the east coast grew the most musicians..new york or philly..?
Whats it like to play at the major jazz festivals around the world..which ones are the hippist,newport rhode island..montreux switerland..new york..new orleans louisiana..?The ones that pay the most money and are located in the best spots near the ocean for example..or in the mountains,in resorts in the worlds most fun places..
You can come to this website and find out who his playing where and when ..What are the names and reputations of the young players coming up..where are they from..Who taught them ..what clubs and venues are happnin..where will we find the lists of these places..?Like Ronnie Scotts or warm daddies in philly..? The culture..I once knew a musician who had just come into some money.. She spent ten thousand of it on new gear.. new mixer, new speakers , new recording software and a spankin new Fender strat that sparkled when she held it.. she literally glowed with pride at having it..she must have wanted those things for a long time..i could tell that from the wide grin on her face.. She almost lifted off the floor as she spoke about the experience.. feet were not touchin the ground..i can still see the light emanating from her being as she was in tune with it in those moments..I am there with her in my studio teaching her how to sing and helping her with her songs.. the memory of that moment still lighting up my life.. She was so beautiful in that she wanted to help me get the same stuff she had..at the time i was working with Mark Of The Unicorn., and she had just bought Protools.. needless to say i rushed right out and bought it too.. who can resist that kind of action when a person is at the top of their game. Now every time we meet we have something special between us.. Mark Of The Unicorn and Protools for those of you who don’t know are music sequencing programs..they are like word processing software except we work with music recording and playback in realtime..we use a guitar or a keyboard and play right into the computer through an interface..an interface is like a friend ,a go between.. you tell them something and that something is relayed to another person.. in this case keyboard -interface-the computer.. and, we are able to edit out mistakes with endless undos.. Protools is among the best in the world..at the top of the list..

Just For The Beauty

For massage yoga and meditation

There are some wonderful things in the world..Just look around and you can see them..there are things you can use to promote healing for body mind and spirit..one of the most ancient is the drum..The sound of a drum excites the body into dancing and moving the hips.. swaying,swirling and turning this way and that..and the sound stays with us for days ..as far as dancing and relaxing are concerned,i’m glad there are tools we can use to help the body along….i’m glad there exercises like yoga we can do..books and blogs we can read.. dances we can perform and music we can find that lifts our hearts and minds..well,you might ask..why would anyone want to lift up their hearts or their minds..our minds are ok as they are..why would anyone go to all that trouble..we can just as easly have a glass of wine..it’ll do the same thing…Yes this is true..after a stressful day at work you can sit and relax with friends over a glass of your favorite..or, you can go home,put on some relaxing massage music,have a massage,and then use that same stress relieving music for your beginner yoga practice..which, leads you, teaches you, how to begin to meditate..I agree that its a bit scary when you first begin to think about it..yet,no one but no one knows what massage,yoga or meditation is when they first encounter it..it takes reading about thinking about and considering it that opens your mind to it..and once you have tasted that sweet essence it gives you ..you are hooked to life..i’ll bet you didn’t know there is music that is composed for the healing arts of relaxation,massage and meditation..it only becomes important when you become aware of the need for something better in your life..there are millions of people who practice yoga and they are getting a grip on the things which take them off in a wrong direction.Music for massage, yoga, and meditation…cdbaby.com/ernienelson2

The culture

Teens are passionate about gadgets,technology, cell phones , cameras, cell phones that take your picture,wireless.. even though they don’t know
how it works they just know it works.. they’re passionate about walking on the street and talkin with their friend,ridin the bus or goin to a concert all the while using their celly..They are passionate also about leasure..Doin what they want to do and when they want to do it.. Technology magazines must be a big thing with them or at least tech websites..popular science’s “whats new”,roller blades.. All the latest technology turns people on because it is the future.It literaly puts people in the future.. and it is leading people to mind.. exciting mind..what the mind can do..it transports us to the future..It takes us out of present hardships into the future where no hardships are..because in our future there is only bliss..having fun.. It makes us think future..Its exciting.. the same as going to a good movie only, we’re in the movie.. we are living the future thru our gadgets.. There are no wars in the future because physically that future hasn’t happened yet..In the [p2p] community we are living in a future where everything is free..exactly like when we were children..So,..are we passionate about the future? We are building our future right now.I don’t think people realize this,ie, why we are excited about technology..
What do the peer to peer people see themselves doing in their future..?Do they see themselves giving back to the rest of the world..? Are they seeing themselves giving or is it only receiving..? Even so this is the culture.
Writing about the culture… about our dream come true.. of recording music in our own studio.. with our own equipment, our own mixer and speakers . our own piano and keyboards , our own computer and software sequencer, our own Books that we have read and learned from.. our own people who gave us courage and instruction.. our own people coming to learn and do their projects in this living space.. of putting songs together from scratch..I..,the writer am doing the work i want to do.. always wanted to write beautiful music.I write beautiful music, soul stirring music, hip jazz pieces.. funky blues songs with a message in them.. I hear a chord.. I hear the potential in that chord for an entire jazz symphony. I hear the message in it calling to me to come and investigate.. sometimes we hear it in one note.. one note of particular sparkling beauty or one with an unfathomable mystic depth.. that says to me you have find out about this.. to go there to experience and exhaust the possibilities.. This is the culture. This is the dream that lay hidden in the depths of my being waiting for the moment when it could reveal itself to me.. Its too soon.. he’s not ready yet.. she whispers.. i remember hearing this more than once in the quiet of the early morning..
I know i am not alone in this.. that others before me have had this same calling.. their music has inspired me to get busy with my own creations.. to know the joy.. to know the pain and the relinquishing of it when the song is finished.. and to know the ecstasy as my own becoming.. my own ascending from the darkness of ignorance into light. I am a living dream..A bright and shining star.. Earth Wind and Fire and water.. the group and the elements within that group.. when i first heard that song i couldn’t believe what they were saying.. no one, but no one had ever spoken that to me.. it is a sound clear out of this world.. how could they just stand there and say that? Aren’t they afraid that some one could do something bad to them for saying that in public.. and even dancing along with what they are singing.. and wearing bright colored fancy clothes..tellin the truth.
Then there’s the question of the independant muscian/singer/song/ writer.. someday you will be honored and recognized for who you really are.. You bring light to people in need of light.. you bring hope to people who have lost hope.. you bring excitement to people who are bored with their lives.. and they jump and dance and shout because you give them something real.. You are the heart and soul of the musical movement on planet earth.. the anticipation.. the keepin on keepin on after you’ve been turned away again and again.. and we search for a way.. the” highway” to success in getting our music heard by the masses.. People rich and poor need to hear and experience the beautiful raw soul and talent of musicians.. Even the artists who are signed to major labels.., your pain and frustration is felt by us who walk beside you on the same path that leads to the opening onto the highway.. its there and we will get there if we will but follow.. It ain’t easy.. but study and perserverance brings you there and we all have to find our own thing that will get us there to that opening.. we, everyone of us, do things in whatever way, or in the way we know how.. so it is from that know how that we build.. We cannot depend on businesses built by others to bring us to success.. though some try for real to help.. they are just to busy trying to help many that the neccessary dedication to your project doesn’t exist with them.. it exists only with us….
